Vung Vieng fishing village

Vung Vieng (also known as Vong Vieng) is a fishing village located in the heart of Bai Tu Long Bay, Ha Long Bay, Vietnam. As the village is still off the beaten tourists track, therefore, if you are seeking a destination that enchants you by the stunning sea view, peaceful atmosphere and marvellous experience, Vung Vieng Fishing Village is probably the right choice for you.

In the middle of the astounding karst formations, the village is emerged by the appearance of the fishermen’s town. There are approximately 50 families (corresponding to about 50 fishing boats) with 200-300 residents including nearly 100 children. You will be immersed in the charming landscape, the beauty of the fishing nets and boats and the hospitality and honesty of the locals. More interestingly, tourists will have a chance to discover to real cultural life of the fishermen by self-boating, dropping nets and fishing.

However, this village is very poor that their major income comes solely from fishing and children are not fully equipped for school. Providing that, some tourists and travel companies such as the Indochina Junk and Footprints have supported the children and brought a brighter future for the village.
