Surprise Cave

Surprise Cave is one of the must-see attractions in Halong Bay and is well-known for being the widest and most spectacular cave in the heart of the Bay.

Located on Bo Hon Island, Surprise Cave covers an area of 10,000 square meters and is about 30 meters high with thousands of stalactites and stalagmites. Walking up a hundred stone steps to reach the cave’s narrow mouth, no one can imagine such a big big world is waiting for them inside.

Tourists will immediately be impressed when entering the first chamber, which is similar to a theater hall with many stalactites hanging from the high ceiling. Another narrow passage leads to the second room where you will be overwhelmed by the amazing flow of natural light leaking in from the above sky. Going deeper inside, tourists will meet a clear pond and a fascinating landscape of small mountains.

To add to the enchantment of the cave, many illuminating light posts and spotlights of various colors are set up inside in such an inconspicuous way that the natural scenery is still preserved. Walking through the cave, visitors will be amazed by the wonderful power of Mother Nature to create such a masterpiece through millions years and understand why the cave got its name as Surprising Cave.
