Lan Ha Bay

Lan Ha Bay is situated to the east of Cat Ba Island and borders with Halong Bay to the south. The Bay has been long famous for its unspoiled and breathtaking natural beauty. It covers an area of more than 70 square kilometers and is divided into many smaller bays and gulfs, some of which still remain mysteries to local people.

Lan Ha Bay comprises about 400 islets in different and interesting shapes and sizes scattering everywhere in the bay and attracts tourists as much as as its neighbor – Halong Bay does. Many islets are well-known among tourists for their distinctive formation and features such as Guoc Islet (Wooden Shoe Islet), Doi Islet (Bat Islet) or Khi Islet (Monkey Islet)

Besides, Lan Ha Bay is also home to many pristine beaches, where tourists can enjoy swimming, kayaking or snorkeling into the tranquil sea or just relax by lazily lying on the white sand. Most of the beaches in Lan Ha Bay are quite small, quiet with gentle waves and lie between Limestone Mountains, which makes them more private and the magnificent surroundings will surely amaze tourists.

In many areas, underneath the azure-blue water is colorful coral reef that tourists cannot find anywhere else. Lan Ha Bay is one of a few places where tourists can enjoy diving in the area of Halong Bay. Passing through this bay, tourists also have the chance to visit one of the most famous fishing villages in the area – Viet Hai Fishing Village to experience the floating lives of local residents.
